3 Things to do when it is hard to get started

“It is a busy day, have had a packed week, its been a crazy month”sounds familiar right? That is why you never started that blog, you never started exercising ,you never started that business, you never started that book, and the list goes on,suddenly you realize the year is gone and then you feel, -well- I will pick it up next year, after all it was not urgent,it can wait! … The more I think about it, the more I realize that so many of us myself included often think this way at some level.

No Excuses

Without realizing this kind of a talk becomes an habit that is hard to break and you go explaining why you didn’t, couldn’t, shouldn’t or just wouldn’t do something.

To get to where you want go or to at least to achieve your goals, you need discipline and motivation.Have struggled a lot with this until one of mentor Bindu Krishnan the brain behind 90rollsroyces told me “It doesn’t have be perfect just do it” I once described her advice in this blog post. We need to be able to overcome the mental blocks that we think we have and just get started. But the simple task of starting something can seem daunting if you don’t approach it with the right mindset

Being stuck is a position few of us like. We want something new but cannot let go of the old – old ideas, beliefs, habits, even thoughts. We are out of contact with our own genius. Sometimes we know we are stuck; sometimes we don’t. In both cases we have to DO something”.

Rush Limbaugh

If you feel stuck, here is a list of three things you can do to get going :

  • Start Small

Small things become big things. Focus on small steps, they are wonderful events on their own. When I first started my blog in 2017 ,I would take almost 6 months before posting anything on the blog..I was always in the preparation mode. But what have learned is doing it now ,and keeping it simple. Do not wait for tomorrow,do not wait for things to get perfect.Sometimes we want to see the end result before getting started but the most important thing is just to get started

  • Stop living other peoples life

You are very different, dont base your decision on what everyone is doing. There is nothing wrong being different. Probably what you have been keeping aside for years could be a result of fear…”what will people think, what will people say, what if i fail”you have heard this right. If you are reading this am sure you want to get moving and forget what everyone thinks about you.KUDOS you are taking a road less traveled.Throwing away your value and your uniqueness to please everyone is very cruel.Celebrate your life for doing what you love, experiment and have fun

  • Let go

You cannot control everything that happens in your life.Do not worry about what you have not achieved today.Focus on now. This is the only opportunity you have not yesterday and not tomorrow .Accept the way things are at the moment, sometimes things dont always go the way we plan ,but dont stay on the ground so long, dust yourself and getting moving
